Watch: Animated Bill Murray Is Irrepressibly Joyful In Music-Video Collab With Paul Shaffer

By Stephen Gossett in Arts & Entertainment on Mar 8, 2017 10:35PM

We all know Bill Murray isn't one to hide his singing voice under a bushel (see Nick the Lounge Singer, his Roxy Music take in Lost in Translation, impromptu versions of "The Weight" at Chicago house parties, et al.). So it wasn't necessarily a surprise to come across this video of Murray lending his vocal "chops" to a collaboration with his old pal and former Late Show bandleaer Paul Shaffer, but it was downright pleasant all the same. The unwaveringly sunny clip, "Happy Street," comes from the upcoming album from Shaffer's storied World's Most Dangerous Band, and it's, dare we say, Murray's finest animated hour since Osmosis Jones.

Enjoy the video—chockablock with references to Murray's and Shaffer's careers—above. It kicks off with a lovely Groundhog Day nod and goes from there.
