A West Englewood woman faces a first-degree murder charge after she forced her boyfriend to drink bleach, according to police and news reports.
On March 6 at around 1:45 a.m., Yasmine Elder, 24, poured a "caustic substance" down a 26-year-old man's throat and forced him to drink it, according to police. The incident happened in the 6500 block of South Bishop, authorities said. Elder was arrested that evening, at around 5:30 p.m., police said in a release.
The two were reportedly fighting in a van when Elder forced the victim, her boyfriend, Darrius Ellis, to swallow the bleach.
Elder is scheduled to appear in bond court on Thursday, police said.
