Lincoln Square Is About To Get Some of Chicago's Best Fried Chicken

Chicagoist has been a fan of The Budlong ever since we reviewed every restaurant in Revival Food Hall (it ended up being Anthony's favorite option in the whole place). Now, after a very long wait, they are about to open their second location in Lincoln Square any day.

In case you're not already a fan, The Budlong serves Nashville-style hot fried chicken, slathered in fiery sauce and topped with pickles. Revival was my first taste of this style, and now I can't get enough, which is why i have literally been staking the upcoming Western Avenue location. I checked out the storefront on Sunday, and, at least at a glance, it's ready to open. They passed their health inspection, according to the city's data portal, they've shared photos of their completed interior on Facebook, and they told Eater that they'll be open by the end of the month.

In addition to being a big boost to the neighborhood (and, consequentially, to my waistline), The Budlong is another food business to open on that strip of Western, along with Baker Miller Pie Co. Hopefully, just like has happened on Lawrence Avenue, a combination of streetscaping and independent, exciting restaurants and shops will begin to amp up this sleepy stretch of one of Chicago's biggest streets.

Your best bet to find out when they open, especially if you're not a stalker like me? Follow them on twitter.

The newest location of The Budlong is at 4619 N. Western Ave.
