Ride-Share Driver Crashes After Being Beaten By Passengers In Brainerd

A ride-share driver accidentally crashed his car while he was being battered in the face by two passengers in Brainerd at the end of an hours-long drive, according to police.
A male ride-share driver, 51, picked up five men in the 1400 block of West 93rd Street on Sunday night and drove the group for three to four hours, police said. When they returned to the pickup location, at around 12:35 a.m. early Monday morning, two of the men battered the driver in the face. The victim then accidentally hit the accelerator and crashed into a structure in the 9300 block of South Laflin Street, according to police.
The victim was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital and treated for minor facial injuries.
One man is in custody. He was treated at Roseland Community Hospital for minor injuries. The four other men fled the scene, police said.
