The Front Of A Semi Truck Fell Off Kennedy Expressway Sunday; Driver Seriously Injured

A devastating crash on the Kennedy Expressway Sunday morning near Avondale led to the front half of a semi truck falling off an expressway overpass as the rear of the truck dangled behind it, and the driver was seriously injured.
The truck appeared to have crashed into the side of the I-90 outbound lane took place shortly after 8 a.m., according authorities, at the Kimball Avenue overpass. Due to the collision, the cab of the truck fell over the overpass onto street level. The driver was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition, and a level 1 hazmat team was required to clean up the site because the truck was leaking fuel, according to WLS. Traffic was stopped on the highway and the street below after the crash, while part of the truck dangled dangerously overhead.
The truck was from Minnesota's Taylor Truck Line, which, WGN reports, has a record of 29 crashes resulting in two fatalities.
