There's Now A Potbelly App With Rewards, Free Cookies & An 'Underground' Menu

Potbelly, everyone's favorite faux-antique sandwich shop, has just sweetened the deal for their customers. They've just released an app with a rewards program. My consumption of (incredibly high calorie) Potbelly sugar cookies is probably about to go way, way up.

Like most of these type of apps, the new Potbelly App offers mobile pay and mobile ordering, but that's not the fun part. The fun part is perks.

For every $2 spent, customers get a smile. Awww. Smiles get you status. Did you ever think your overeating of Potbelly would get you status? Well, it does now.

10 smiles and you're a "cookie rookie," and you get some free stuff on your birthday, the ability to order ahead and cut in line, and some other "personalized perks," presumably to come later.

Here's something intriguing. When you get 50 smiles (you're a "sandwich superstar") you get access to the "underground menu." There's an underground menu at Potbelly? Apparently there is!

The real jackpot is when you get 250 smiles (which sounds like a lot, but $500 at Potbelly is, sadly, not that much for some of us)—between 3 and 5 p.m. every day, with any purchase, you get a free cookie. Plus, everyone who downloads the app and uses it gets a free cookie. I'm getting my fat pants out now.

The app is free and powered through LevelUp, a common rewards/payment system. It's available for Android and iPhone.
