3 Shot, Including Two 12-Year-Old Boys, In Old Town Tuesday Afternoon

Three people were shot in Old Town Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The shooting was a drive-by, taking place in the 1400 block of North Sedgwick Avenue at about 2:41 p.m. According to police, "a vehicle drove by and unknown occupant(s) fired shots striking the three individuals."

Among those three, a 12-year-old boy was shot in the chest, and was determined to be in stable condition after being brought to Lurie Children's Hospital. Another 12-year-old boy was shot in the left leg and taken to Lurie in stable condition. A 66-year-old man was shot in the hand, and taken to Northwestern Hospital in stable condition.

The shooting took place in the 18th police district, and Area Central detectives are investigating.
