A Man Was Fatally Shot On A CTA Red Line Platform Early Monday

A man was fatally shot while standing at the Garfield Red Line platform early Monday morning, according to authorities.
The man, 33, was shot in the head and chest in the 200 block of West Garfield Avenue around 2:39 a.m. According to police, the man got into an argument with another man, who then shot him with a handgun. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.
Area Central police are investigating the shooting as a murder and no one is in custody as of Monday morning.
