Man Attempted To Sexually Abuse 6-Year-Old Girl In Logan Square Store: Police

Police are looking for a man who grabbed a 6-year-old girl and attempted to sexually abuse her in a Logan Square grocery store, according to authorities.

A stranger went up to the girl inside a store in the the 3900 block of West Diversey Avenue on Saturday, at around 9:30 p.m. He then motioned her over, kissed the girl's cheek, grabbed her hand and put it inside his pants pocket, police said. The man fled after he was confronted by one of the girl's family members.

Police described the suspect as a white Hispanic, between the age of 40 and 50, medium build, between 5-foot-four to 5-foot-seven, with black, medium-length hair, brown eyes and a thin mustache. He wore a black baseball cap, black jacket, white long-sleeved sweatshirt, green camouflage pants, and black boots, according to police. Authorities said he frequents the Logan Square area.
