Learn To Make The Aviary's Spectacular Cocktails At Home

By Anthony Todd in Food on May 1, 2017 5:05PM

The Aviary has become, since its 2011 opening, one of the world's most acclaimed bars. From the team behind Alinea and Next, the drinks at the Aviary combine bartending expertise with whiz-bang fireworks and gimmicks for a super fun experience. Now, thanks to The Aviary Cocktail Book, you'll be able to (attempt to) replicate them at home.

A Kickstarter campaign has started which will launch this new book. As of now, with only a tiny bit of time elapsed, it's already half funded, so this is likely more of an opportunity to pre-order the book than to support its creation. However, there are some pretty great rewards for the campaign, including the famous "porthole" from Crucial Detail, a night at The Office, the "secret" bar below the Aviary and more.

The book is being produced in collaboration with Allen and Sarah Hemberger, who have their own Alinea connection - they blogged about (and eventually Kickstarted a book about) cooking everything in the Alinea cookbook.

Let's be real for a second—this will likely end up being more of a coffee table book than a cookbook, because actually creating some of these drinks at home will require more effort than most of us are willing to go through. But given how gorgeous it looks, who cares? Readers will likely learn a lot about how complicated drinks are made, and get a beautiful piece of table art on the side.

A copy of the book requires a $60 pledge.
