A woman was robbed and sexually assaulted on Sunday night while walking in the Horner Park neighborhood, according to police.

A 31-year-old woman was walking along North Campbell Avenue, near the 2500 block of West Pensacola Avenue at around 9:10 p.m. on Sunday when a man wearing a dark sweatshirt grabbed her from behind, announced a robbery and threatened her with what might have been a gun, police said.

The victim gave up her money and cellphone. The man then forced her into an alley, sexually assaulted her and fled the scene, according to police.

The woman was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital and listed in stable condition. Police do not have anyone in custody as of Monday morning.
