A 16-year-old is under arrest and police are looking for two other people after a man, 56, was carjacked in Lakeview on Monday night, according to police.

The man was double parked in traffic in the 800 block of West Newport Avenue at around 10 p.m. when another car, a dark sedan, pulled in front, according to police. Two teens, one of whom had a gun, hopped out then pulled the victim from his car. One teen went through the man's pockets; the other sped off in the victim's Honda Accord. The other offender then got back in his car and sped off after the victim was able to flee, police said.

Police in the area soon recognized the stolen car from radio chatter. When officers tried to curb the vehicle, the driver sped away and crashed into a parked car, in the 500 block of West Briar Place. Police apprehended the driver of the stolen car after a short food chase.

Charges against the 16-year-old are pending, and police are still looking for the other teen and one other suspect. The victim was not injured, police said.

ABC7 tweeted a photo of some of the aftermath.
