Person Dead After Reportedly Jumping Onto Roosevelt CTA Tracks Monday Night

A person was fatally struck by a CTA Orange Line train shortly after midnight Tuesday after he reportedly jumped onto the tracks at the Roosevelt Station in the South Loop.
The person jumped around 12:30 a.m. according to authorities, and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Chicago Fire Department, one CTA worker was injured during the collision, and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
The person's age and gender have not been released, and the person remains unidentified as of Tuesday afternoon, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
