Man Groped Woman On CTA Bus, Then Attacked Her: Police

A Humboldt Park man has been charged with two felonies after he groped a woman on a CTA bus and attacked her after she exited, according to police.

Christopher Gates, of the 400 block of North Harding Avenue, grabbed a woman's buttocks on a CTA bus at around 9 a.m. on Feb. 3, police said. When the victim, 21, left the bus, Gates followed her, grabbed her from behind and tried to pull her into an empty lot, in the 3600 block of W. Ogden, according to police. The then broke away and called police.

Gates faces one felony count of aggravated battery to a transit passenger and one felony count of unlawful restraint.

He is due to appear in bond court on Thursday.
