The National has come a long way from their early days. When I first saw them it was a show I booked at The Pontiac in Wicker Park in '03 as a favor to a friend. By the mid-aughts Pitchfork had become fans of the band, and I was pleased to watch their profile grow considerably—Who didn't want to see the little band from Cincinnati succeed? Fast forward to the last time they were in town, all my social feeds were clogged with photos of people who are less-than-regular concert goers swooning over the shows.

Well, friends, prepare to swoon again, because The National are coming back to Chicago for a two-night show at the Civic Opera House Dec.12 and 13.

The National are releasing a hotly anticipated new album this fall, Sleep Well Beast. And anyone getting ttickets to their Chicago shows will also get a digital copy of that album when it comes out on Sept. 8. So that means tickets for the shows—which will run you between $35 and $59.50, before service charges—ain't too bad for a band of their stature.

Tickets go on sale on Friday May 19 at 10 a.m. You can snag tickets online here for Dec. 12 or here for Dec. 13, or you can go the old-fashioned route and pick them up at the Civic Opera House box office (20 N. Wacker Dr.).

So, who's camping out over night for tickets?
