The beaches don't open for a couple more weeks (Friday, May 26, to be exact), but summer temperatures have finally arrived, a little bit ahead of schedule but not a moment too soon: The highs will be in the high 70s this weekend, and get up to the low 80s by Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
There's also rain in the forecast Friday west of the city, but so far, the outlook for Chicago remains clear:

As usual, it will be cooler on the lakefront, according to the NWS, so plan your weekend beach- and park-lounging accordingly.
