The other side of the coin of Chicago's unusually warm winter has arrived, in the form of a heating-up May. Temperatures will be in the high 80s Tuesday and Wednesday, according to weather reports, taunting 9-to-5-ers and others stuck indoors this week to no end.
Of course, it wouldn't be summer weather in Chicago without elevated thunderstorm risks, and this week is no exception, with the National Weather Service warning of storms in Northern Illinois off I-80 this evening:

Chicago is looking clear until Wednesday evening, when forecasts predict evening thunderstorms and high winds will break up the heat. For Tuesday the forecasted high is 87, with a low of 86, and for Wednesday the high is 85 with a low of 67. The temperature will come back down to the 50s and 60s for the weekend, but there's more rain on the way.
Stay cool out there, Chicago.
