An Eden Green woman has been charged with murder in the brutal vehicular ramming death of the daughter of a Chicago Police Department officer, according to police and reports.

Authorities arrested Chynna Stapleton, 24, on Friday night, shortly after she allegedly rammed an 18-year-old woman to death while driving a Jeep.

Stapleton climbed behind the wheel of a 2002 Jeep Liberty after she and a woman got into a verbal fight at around 11:10 p.m. on Friday in the 11400 block of South May Street, in Morgan Park, according to police. Stapleton then chased the woman on the sidewalk, pinned her against a tree, then repeatedly rammed into her against the tree, according to police. Stapleton fled the scene, but was arrested just a few minutes later, at 11:35 p.m. in the 100 block of West 115th Street, police said. She also hit several vehicles after she sped from away from the scene, according to police.

The victim, identified in reports as Tatyanna Lewis, the daughter of a Chicago police officer, died on the scene, police said.

The Sun-Times reports that activist Andrew Holmes, who is helping the Lewis family, said that a child was in the back seat of the SUV used in the murder. He told the paper the fight started over a conflict on social media. Stapleton was angry after hearing rumors online that Lewis and the father of Stapleton's child were getting close, sources told ABC7.

Stapleton is scheduled to appear in bond court on Monday.
