Ex-AR Gov. Mike Huckabee Tweets That He Expects To Be 'Dodging Bullets' During Chicago Visit

The conservative talking point that equates Chicago with a warn-torn country is tired, inaccurate, often racist, and always super lazy. So of course former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee wanted to give it his own twist in a tweet Tuesday afternoon.
"On way to Chicago for speech," he wrote on Twitter. "Expecting to have to run from plane dodging bullets like Hillary did in Bosnia when under sniper fire! Yikes!"

Given that Huckabee's tweet also references Hillary Clinton's claim during her 2008 presidential campaign that she once flew into Bosnia "under sniper fire"—a claim that news outlets from the Washington Post to Politifact quickly and thoroughly dismissed as "pants on fire"-level false—it's possible to interpret Huckabee's tweet as a sarcastic critique of President Donald Trump's frequent, hyperbolic Chicago-as-war-zone rants.
But somehow, that's not how we, and a lot of other Chicagoans on Twitter this afternoon, saw it:
