Police are warning residents after a man attempted to lure a 6-year-old girl into a car on the Northwest Side on Sunday evening.

The girl was running in the 5400 block of North Neenah Avenue, in Union Ridge, when an unknown driver in a gray or silver four-door sedan pulled up.

"Are you OK? Do you want some candy? Come to the car and get in," the man said to the girl, according to police. He drove off after he realized the girl's brother was nearby. The girl went home with her two brothers, who alerted their mother, who called the police.

Police described the suspect as white man, bald with gray hair on either side of his head, between the ages of 50 and 60. He was wearing glasses and a gray tee shirt.

Police ask anyone with information to notify detectives at (312) 744-8200.
