If you're planning on grilling or getting together outside over the long holiday weekend, you might want to aim for Saturday. Sunday and Memorial Day are both shaping up for possible scattered rain and potential thunderstorms, according to weather forecasts.
Monday shows the highest likelihood of showers over the weekend, with a 60 percent chance of precipitation, according to weather.com. Rain is likely to start in the afternoon and develop further later at night on Monday.
There's a slight chance of showers on Sunday during the day, with possible isolated rain and thunderstorms in the evening. Temps will likely creep in the mid-70s—and it should feel that way, too. There won't be any cooling effect from the lake on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service-Chicago.
