Elderly Couple Beaten, Robbed In Home Invasion On Northwest Side

A man, 81, and woman, 77, were beaten during a home-invasion robbery in Belmont Cragin on Thursday night, police said.
One or more men dressed in black hoodies broke into a home in the 5400 block of West Henderson Street at around 11:47 p.m., according to police. The attackers struck the victims in the face, causing lacerations, before taking off south with a purse, police said.
Both victims were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and were listed in good condition.
Police do not have any suspects in custody as of Friday morning.
Updated 1:15 p.m: Police released a community alert Friday afternoon warning that these burglaries and home invasions were part of a pattern. In at least two other recent incidents this month, police said, burglars entered homes and threatened or battered the homes' residents while stealing their property.
The other two home invasions took place in the following locations and times:
•4100 block of N. Avers on May 19, 2017 at 1:08 p.m.
•4800 block of W. Nelson on May 23, 2017 at 9:35 p.m.
