Police are warning about a series of robberies in the 12th District, near University Village.
In at least three recent armed robberies, a man, described as black and between 16 and 30 years old, approached people on the street, either showed them a handgun or implied that he had one, then took their belongings and ran away.
The robberies all took place in the past week on South Morgan Street at the following locations and times:
1300 Block of South Morgan Street on May 20, 2017 between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m.
1300 Block of South Morgan Street on May 22, 2017 at 9:50 p.m.
1400 Block of South Morgan Street on May 24, 2017 at 7:25 p.m.
The robber had short black hair and was wearing a red or black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans, police said in an alert. Police recommend that people concerned about being robbed should report suspicious activity to the police, remain calm if confronted by a robber, never chase after a robber, and remember their assailant's unique physical characteristics, i.e. a scar or limp.
