Get ready for the Return of the Bucktown Aldi! DNAInfo reports that, on June 15, the store at 1753 N. Milwaukee Ave. will reopen after being closed for more than a year.

The old Aldi closed in March 2016, and was actually demolished, to make room for a new mixed-use development, Centrum Bucktown. A new 18,000-square-foot Aldi will now occupy the first floor of the development, according to Curbed.

Other features of the 606-adjacent development, where rent starts at more than $2,000 a month: a dog run, a Yolk brunch spot, an "[i]nspired lobby space," and "soft-close cabinetry."

I mean... honestly, it sounds like gentrification incarnate, but it also sounds nice. Especially when your next-door neighbor is an Aldi.

We've reached out to Aldi and will update as more information becomes available.
