The search for a woman who disappeared into the lake at Montrose Beach on Sunday has been suspended due to conditions, according to police.

The woman, in her 40s, entered the water near the 4500 block of N. Simonds Drive at roughly 8 a.m. on Sunday morning, police said in a statement.

The CPD marine unit searched for her until 11 p.m. on Sunday night with no results, and planned to resume their search Monday morning. However, due to "high waves and a deteriorating visibility," the surface search has been suspended.
