Girl, 12, Stabbed & Beaten To Death In Sheridan Park

A 12-year-old girl died after being beaten and stabbed on Sunday night in Sheridan Park, according to police.
The victim, identified as Alexis Stubbs by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, was killed in an attack that is believed to have happened "during the course of a domestic dispute," police said. It happened at around 9:45 p.m. at an apartment in the 4600 block of N. Beacon St., according to police.
According to WGN, a knife and hammer were used in the killing. Police took in a person of interest at around 3:20 a.m. about a block and a half from where Stubbs was killed, the Tribune reports.
