A woman was found beaten to death in East Garfield Park early Wednesday. According to reports she was half-naked and so badly beaten her face was difficult to identify.

The woman, who appears to be between 40 and 50 years old, was found around 1:15 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Huron Street. The area is part of the East Garfield Park neighborhood but also a part of the Humboldt Park community area. Police say their investigation "revealed blunt trauma to the face of the victim and defensive wounds on her body." Area North police are investigating her death as a homicide, and no one is in custody.

It's the second death this week on the same block, according to ABC7; 17-year-old Tiara Viramontes was killed and a 30-year-old man was wounded in a shooting last Sunday.
