Chicago rapper Vic Mensa has reportedly struck a plea deal on gun charges, according to TMZ.
Mensa was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon in Los Angeles back in March. He told police that he had a gun in the car after he was pulled over for running a stop sign, Mensa showed a permit, but it was reportedly invalid because it was issued from a different state.
He pled no contest to a charge of carrying a concealed firearm; and second charge—carrying an unregistered loaded firearm—was dropped.
The District Attorney's office told TMZ that Mensa will serve two years' probation. He won't do jail time if he pays $500 and an added $1,325 in restitution.
Mensa's debut full-length, The Autobiography, releases on July 28. A teaser EP came out in June. He joined fellow Savemoney alum Joey Purp onstage at Pitchfork Music Festival on Sunday.
