3 Men Accused Of Shooting Police Officer During T-Mobile Store Robbery

Three men have been charged with robbing a T-Mobile store in Back of the Yards and exchanging shots with the police, shooting a police officer non-fatally in the leg.

Dante Jeffries, 27, was charged Tuesday with multiple felonies in relation to the incident, including two felony counts of attempted first-degree murder. On Monday, Donzell Grant, 20, and Corez Harrington, 24, were also charged with multiple felonies.

At 1:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, the men allegedly conducted an armed robbery of a T-mobile store in the 4300 block of South Ashland Avenue. They tied up the employees in the back of the store and fled the scene with merchandise. When officers caught up to them, the men shot an officer in the leg while resisting arrest.

Jeffires was charged with the following felonies:

Two counts of Armed Robbery
One count of Aggravated Battery
One count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm
One count of Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking
One count of Kidnapping while Armed

Cortez and Harrington were each charged with the following felonies:

Two counts of attempted first-degree murder
Two counts of armed robbery with a firearm
Two counts of aggravated battery / discharging a firearm at an off-duty police officer
One count of aggravated battery / discharging a firearm at a police officer
One count of armed kidnapping
One count of vehicular hijacking with a firearm
