Naked Man Runs At Cop After Reportedly Mutilating Genitals In Viral Video

A viral video shows a naked man with blood near his crotch dash toward police officers in Irving Park on Monday night before being subdued.

The 20-year-old man was "running in the street and acting erratically" in the 3800 block of North Drake Avenue at around 7:23 p.m., a police spokesperson told Chicagoist via email.

As seen in the graphic clip, police got the man under control after he first darted toward an officer. Responding cops used a combination of Tasers and "dry stun techniques," police said.

Despite "reports that he had chopped off his privates," as the New York Post wrote, police said the man "sustained minor injuries." He was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital for a mental evaluation.

As disturbing as all that is, perhaps the most unsettling aspect of the clip are the shouts of one witness (not seen in the video) to shoot the man—and he doesn't sound like he's referring to a Taser gun. "Shoot his ass! Shoot that motherf****r!" he yells.
