Police Warn Of Armed Robberies Near Wicker Park's Major Intersection

Police are warning about a string of armed robberies that took place earlier this month near Wicker Park's Damen-North-Milwaukee intersection.

The robberies took place between 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 8 and 10:55 p.m. the following evening on July 9. In each of the robberies, a group of young men would pull up in their car alongside a person, get out and rob them, then flee in the car. They would steal cellphones, wallets, credit cards, cash and an iPhone from the robbery victims.

Police said the robbers were described as four to five "skinny" young black men in their late teens or early twenties. They were armed with a small black handgun.

The robberies took place in the following locations, mostly around Wicker Park:
- 2100 block of W. Crystal, on July 08, 2017 at 3:35 a.m.
- 2000 block of W. Pierce, on July 09, 2017 at 4:40 a.m.
- 2100 block of W. Moffat, on July 09, 2017 at 5:00 a.m.
- 2000 block of W. Shakespeare, on July 09, 2017 at 10:55 p.m.
