Naperville is a perfectly lovely place to visit, but we might hold off on a trip in the immediate future. Police on Wednesday sent out an alert warning residents that two rabid bats were found in the area within three days.

Both were little brown bats, according to Naperville police. One was found in a yard on Friday; the second was taken from inside a house on Monday.

Naperville police underscored that people should not touch a bat if they discover one inside their home or business. (Good advice, that.) You can see the alert below, which notes, per the state's Department of Health that a very small percentage of bats tested prove to have rabies. Indeed the Naperville's animal control supervisor, Joanne Aul, told the Naperville Sun that six other previous samples tested negative.
