The architecturally stunning, Jeanne Gang-designed Aqua Tower in the new East Side has a penthouse apartment for sale—and while its $4 million price tag is eyeball-popping, it's actually much lower than sellers already tried to sell it for.
The three bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom, 3,500 square-foot home at 225 N. Columbus Dr. is listed for $3.99 million, but according to Curbed the unit was previously listed at around $6 million in 2015 before being taken off the market. Now the two-level duplex apartment with sweeping views of the city and lake is back.
As you would expect, the home is packed with high-end qualities, including 14-inch ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, two balconies featuring the tower's "undulating" architectural frame, and "unobstructed views of the skyline, lake, river and Nay Pier from every room."
The unit is located on the 80th and 81st floors of the skyscraper, and also comes with two parking spots. The housing association dues on the property are steep as they come: $2,376 a month, but they cover building amenities such as a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and an outdoor track.
