One month ago, we set out on a quest: To figure the best burger in Chicago. We, along with resident burger expert Michael Gebert, put together a rockstar list of the top 32 burger places in the city and suburbs. Round after round, you the readers narrowed the list in a series of 1-on-1 contests for burger dominance. We've finally reached the end.

Honestly, this is a bit of a surprising turn. The best burger, according to our bracket, isn't Kuma's, Au Cheval or Small Cheval. It isn't even Mott Street, which Thrillist thinks is the best.

The best burger in Chicagoland is at Big Guys Sausage Shop.

The contest came down to Big Guys Sausage Shop vs. Fatso's Last Stand, and Big Guys won 53 percent to 47 percent. More than 15,000 votes were cast in this round alone, meaning our readers love their burgers.

Big Guys took this competition seriously. They posted it all over social media, got hundreds of likes and shares, and even put it on their sign!

The complete bracket with all the pairings is below. Congrats to the winners of all rounds, and, really, you should just put that bracket on your fridge and try them all.
