A Chicago Uber driver is accused of locking a 19-year-old female passenger in his and demanding that she have sex with him.
Muhammad Fahim, 44, of West Rogers Park, was ordered held on $100,000 bond on Saturday and faces three counts of unlawful restraint, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The incident allegedly happened on July 4. Prosecutors said that the victim offered to pay her fare in cash after her rideshare request was somehow deleted, but Fahim demanded sex, the Tribune reports. She refused and Fahim allegedly locked the doors several times. The victim was only able to escape from the moving car after it slowed down in traffic, authorities said, according to the Trib.
Fahim has been banned from the app and Uber is looking further into the incident, a spokesperson told the paper.
Fahim was reportedly picked up by police after a traffic violation on Thursday. Authorities were alerted of the July incident after they ran Fahim's name.
