Woman Dead After Being Shot 12 Times In Logan Square

A woman died after she was shot 12 times on Wednesday morning in Logan Square, according to police.

A witness said a woman was standing near the corner of North Spaulding Avenue and West Cortland Street on Wednesday when someone drove up in a black Dodge Charger with tinted windows, according to police. Someone then jumped out of the vehicle, chased the woman, and fired several shots before getting back in the car and fleeing, police said.

Neighbors found the victim in the 3200 Block of West Cortland at around 10:30 a.m. this morning, according to police.

The woman, whose age has not yet been made public, was taken in "grave" condition to Stroger Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.

Authorities described the shooter as a black male, about 20 years old, medium complected, and wearing a red T-shirt.
