A 49-year-old Lakeview man faces 12 felony counts after he allegedly posed as a rideshare driver and stole victims' debit cards and pin numbers, then took money from their bank accounts.

Gabriel Jackson would pick passengers up from a bar and, when he arrived at the requested destination, asked for a debit card—which he then swiped through a third-party payment application and had riders punch in a pin number, according to police.

Jackson would then return a different debit card, which looked similar to the victim's actual card, to the rider. Then he'd take the debit card and pin number to an ATM and withdraw cash, police said.

Jackson faces 12 felony counts of continuing financial crime enterprises. He was arrested on Wednesday after a long-tern investigation, was due to appear in bond court on Thursday, police said. He was ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bond at the hearing, according to ABC7.
