Rash Of Armed Robberies Hits Lakeview & Wrigleyville, Police Warn

Police sent out an alert on Monday warning of six armed robberies that happened in less than a month in the Lakeview/Wrigleyville area.

In each incident, a gunman showed his weapon and demanded personal property from victims, police said.

The robberies happened at the following locations, dates and times:
500 block of West Surf on Aug. 19 at 1:30 am.
1700 block of West Barry on Sept. 1 at 10:45 pm.
3700 block of North Bosworth on Sept. 5 at 10:07 pm.
1000 block of West Grace on Sept. 6 at 12:00 am.
3000 block of North Greenview on Sept. 9 at 1:47 am.
1200 block of West Waveland on Sept. 10 at 5:10 am.

Police described the suspect as man between the ages of 18 and 25, between 5' 8" and 6' tall, and weighing between 140 and 180 pounds. He wore his hair in braids and wore a black or gray hooded sweatshirt and a black White Sox baseball cap.
