Two boys, ages 16 and 17, have been charged in the mugging of an elderly Lincoln Park woman earlier this week.

An 80-year-old woman was shoved to the ground by two suspects who stole her purse on Tuesday evening. It happened in the 1400 block of West Altgeld Street around 5:20 p.m. Police released surveillance video that showed images of the suspects above. Family members recognized the 16-year-old and 17-year-old boys in images they saw on TV. They brought the boys to a North Side police station before they were charged, police told the Chicago Tribune.

The teens were charged as juveniles with felony robbery of a victim over 60 years old and aggravated battery of a victim over 60 years old.

Though authorities have not confirmed the reports, witnesses told ABC 7 that the two teens that pushed the woman down to the ground used some sort of handle or baton. The woman did not have any serious injuries from the incident and she did not need to be hospitalized.
