Thieves drove into the front of a Wicker Park store and made off with merchandise in a crash-and-grab burglary early on Monday morning, according to police.

Burglars used a red sedan to smash into the front glass of a retail shop in the 1700 block of West North Avenue.—identified in reports as Diplomatic 1750, which sells sneakers and other apparel—at around 2:21 a.m. After grabbing items, the burglars took off in two dark-colored sedans, police said.

No one was in custody as of early Monday afternoon.

The owner of the store could not be immediately reached for comment.

Diplomatic 1750 opened earlier this year. According to the shop's website, it sells shoes from Nike's LeBron line, Air Jordans, Yeezys and several other designs, plus shirts and other apparel. Recent posts on the shop's Instagram—which describes the store as an "authority" for "exclusive, rare, limited," and "collectible" sneakers—include the Air Jordan 1 from Nike's "The Ten" collection and a sold Supreme Gonz Heads Camp cap. It was not immediately clear what specific merchandise was stolen.
