Son Of Chicago House Authority Chief Charged With Murder In Indianapolis

The 18-year-old son of the CEO of the Chicago Housing Authority has reportedly been charged with murder in a fatal shooting that happened over the weekend in Indianapolis.

Eugene Jones was charged on Wednesday with murder and robbery in the death of Deante Williams, 18. Police reportedly found Williams suffering from "at least one gunshot wound" at around 6:30 pm in the the 3400 block of Hawthorne Lane, in Indianapolis. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

Jones was reportedly arrested on Tuesday after turning himself in.

The suspect is the son of CHA CEO Eugene Jones Jr.

Jones Jr. said in a statement on Wednesday, via the Tribune, "“This is a situation that no parent expects to find themselves in and I will, like any parent, handle this as a family matter and I cannot offer any further comment."
