Men In Surgical Masks Are Mugging People In West Town, Police Warn

Police are warning West Town residents about two muggings that took place this week, in which men in surgical masks armed with handguns robbed people.

Both muggings took place the same night, from Monday and Tuesday, and took place in the 12th police district, which encompasses West Town. In both cases, two to four black men wearing the masks, also known as white dust masks, showed their targets that they had handguns and then demanded property from them.

The muggings took place in the following spots:

2200 Block of West Erie Street on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 at 10:55 p.m.
1300 Block of West Ohio Street on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 at 12:09 a.m.


The men were described as 2-4 unknown black men, 20 to 30 years of age, 5'05" to 6'01" tall, and weighing 150 to 190 lbs.
