A 39-year-old massage therapist at a Loop spa is accused of sexually assaulting a female client. Anthony Winters said he assaulted the woman because she was attractive, prosecutors said on Wednesday, according to reports.
Winters is accused of sexually assaulting the victim, 28, on the afternoon of February 10 during a massage appointment at Therapy For EveryBody (11 W Jackson Blvd).
The woman "reacted in shock" after the assault, and Winters apologized, Assistant State’s Attorney Kathryn Roy said at a bond hearing on Wednesday, according to the Sun-Times. He told the victim he assaulted her "because he thought she was physically attractive," Roy reportedly told the court.
Winters then waited outside a room while the woman dressed. After she left the room, Winters escorted her from the spa; then the victim "cried out" to her sister and police, Roy said, according to the Tribune.
Winters is charged with criminal sexual assault. His bail was set at $10,000 on Wednesday.
