Hutchinson Wins in Bears Debut

Why were the Bears hiding this guy all that time? Signed following Rex Grossman's season-ending injury, Chad Hutchinson finally got a chance to play, and all he did was throw 3 TD passes in route to a 24-14 upset of the Minnesota Vikings.

On Sunday, Hutchinson actually helped the Bears win the game, completing 18 of 30 passes for 213 yards and 3 TD's with no interceptions. By comparison, Craig Krenzel has only thrown 3 TD's all season and Johnathan Quinn just one.

Is Hutchinson the Bears' answer at QB for the rest of the season? Chicagoist can't say. We'd also like to see what Jeff George has left.

And all this silly playoff talk needs to end now. Yeah, the NFC sucks this year (except Philly and Atlanta), but still. While a 9-7 team might make the post-season, the Bears are not going to win out. Jacksonville's tough and there's Green Bay looking for revenge on Jan. 2. Absolute best case scenario is 8-8 -- not good enough. And that's not very likely anyway. So while the Bears are still mathamatically in it, start working on your "Wait til next year."
