The internets are in a tizzy with with a new ad making the rounds on YouTube. Our gal in the trenches, Lynn Sweet, called it "riveting", and Matt Drudge helped blow it up even further after San Francisco Chronicle writer Carla Marinucci blogged about it.
In fact, it seems that everyone has weighed in on this piece of viral political film-making, including the irrepressible Tucker Carlson, who referred to Hillary as "castrating" (ouch!) Even Barack Obama has seen it, saying "you know, one of the things about the Internet is that people generate all kinds of stuff. In some ways, it’s — it’s the democratization of the campaign process. But it’s not something that we had anything to do with or were aware of and that frankly, given what it looks like, we don’t have the technical capacity to create something like that. It’s pretty extraordinary." We have to wonder how many tech-savvy film-makers are sending their resumes to Obama's campaign headquarters right now.

Weekend Diversion: Night Of The Ponies

You do realize that this is ripped off from the Super Bowl commercial made for Apple in 1984 by Ridley Scott, right?
Of course you do. I should really look at the links next time.
It's actually a ripoff of a fan-made update to the 1984 commercial. Notice the ipod on the hammer thrower.
