County Commissioner Forrest Claypool mostly stayed out of the fracas this week, but he's still going after Stroger. And he pronounces "patronage" so the first syllable rhymes with "rat." Don't most of us pronounce it so the first syllable rhymes with "rate"?

This whole thing is just so amusing. The way Chicago machine politics are setup there is no way Claypool will ever beat Stroger in a primary election. But people are so loyal to the Democratic party that rather than vote for a Republican, Stroger will re-elected again.
Until the people of Chicago stop voting in lock-step for one party, they will never get rid of goons like Stroger.

Last time Clayfool, sorry I mean "Claypool" was silent was when he set up the Apartied Park District system as park chief under Daley his adoptive poltical father.Then he had that, well, shall we say incident with that alderman's daughter. When Daley ordered his political son to stop cheating on his wife with a loyal alderman's daughet, Forest got huffy and quit.
And before that he was Daley's Chief of Staff during the rise of HDO and every other city hall scandal. Remember he had the position twice. Right when Daley first got elected. Once the Machine was up and running again, he went to build his reform credentials by becoming Chief of Staff to then State Treasure Pat Quinn. But Daley called him back across the street to be chief of staff again when Pat Quinn ran against George Ryan
on an end corruption in the SOS office campaign. Of course he talked about "licenses for bribes" but no one would listen then. Especially Daley who supported the Republican Ryan who won by a land slide. Had Quinn won, we might have a state full up happy Spooks, Wards Ups, Fed Ups, Navin's
Kevin's etc, etc and of course the four Willis kids would probably still be alive.
But isn't it great how Claypool is all about reform?
