Bulls head coach Scott Skiles was just handed a stocking full of coal: Executive VP of Basketball Operations John Paxson fired him today. Skiles had been with the Bulls for five seasons, amassing a 165-172 record. He's been an NBA head coach for over eight seasons, with a career record of 281-251.

The Bulls are 9-16 this season, were resoundingly bitchslapped on Saturday with a 116-98 loss to the Rockets, and have their next game Wednesday at San Antonio. [Official release]
