Red-Light Cameras Not So Special?
Who wants to go ice skating a Soldier Field? We do! We do!
A plan for just that is in the works from management company SMG. The Park District supports SMG's bid, which includes an outdoor Blackhawks game at Soldier Field, and the Park District Superintendent Timothy Mitchell says he wants a weeklong rink-ed out skate fest to include a college hockey game and time for "pleasure skating," as the S-T put it. Mmm, pleasure skating.
Even though the SMG contract is pretty much a done deal, Blackhawks president John McDonough says the outdoor game idea is more up in the air, plus the final decision rests with the NHL. SMG has also proposed rodeo and moto-X events, but we're crossing our fingers for monster trucks. The next event scheduled, though, is an "egg stravaganza" March 15.

Just like my license plate: BAD ASS!
The monster truck events NEED to be held at Soldier Field. Currently they have 'em at the bandbox known as Allstate Arena. I heard some hardcore fans explaining that the Allstate Arena is a poor location for Monster Trucks, cuz it's so small, they can't get up to full speed and really fly. Instead they have to go in circles in this little coffee cup of a stadium. MONSTER TRUCKS AT SOLDIER FIELD. LET THE MONSTER TRUCK GO FREE IN CHICAGO!
FYI, Monster Trucks are coming to the AllState Arena this weekend: February 16 and 17.
