Someone sent a scary-nasty letter to Mayor Daley as some kind of reaction to the cougar shooting, threatening to burn down Daley's summer home (which almost happened) and ranting about his family, and a source close to the investigation told the Sun-Times that the same person may have sent a threatening letter to the Brookfield Zoo in 2003.
The April letter to Daley included rants against him, his wife Maggie, his son Patrick, his daughters Nora and Lally -- and even his son Kevin, who died of spina bifida 27 years ago when he was just 33 months old, sources said. The mayor still gets choked up at the mere mention of Kevin's name.Sources said Daley was briefed on the contents of the letter, but never saw it. It reportedly said, "F--- your dead son."
On Thursday, the mayor called the letter "really hurtful."

The zoo letter was sent after a wolf was shot, so investigators say they're looking for someone with an interest in animal rights. And you know, a background in crazy. While letters and threats like this have no place in society I wonder if daley feels differntly about someone sneaking up at nigh and destroying something with no warning (ala miegs field). It's all fun and games until a tyrannt gets hurt.

really I wonder how many lives have been lost do to daleys corruption. How many fires or porch collapses could have been prevented if not for the systematic corruption of the daley machine using politics instead of qualifications for inspectors. How many kids would be alive if not for the shit edeucation of the CPS and the deplorable living conditions of chicago public housing, maybe one or two less train derailments if not for the patronage army running the cta, sometimes karmas a bitch.

Mayor Daley has done a lot for Chicago.
You would have to really love this city to be responsible for all of it .Too many complaints.

No federal help for Big city infrastructure is the BIG PROBLEM . learning to read is free .OPEN A BOOK. Libraries offer free help USE IT.
Now it might help if more people tried working together instead of against each other.Let other people DO THEIR JOBS. Do something for cleaning up the city. What can you contribute????The city owes No one .
If half of the people did half of their jobs it might be a good start.
I do not even understand why Chicago had to have public housing and it should of been managed better.Oak Park has public housing and it is managed very well.
and people should of had to pay. Why should the city be responsible for years and years of helping people.Short term yes and services to get ahead yes.People have to not expect everything for free.
The parents need to make sure CPS students show up and be held responsible for what they learn.
We need more to take responsibility for ourselves.
I grew up in the city and we never complained about flooding this is Chicago it floods.
We never begged for Air conditioning and we had none.It could get to 102 in July This is Chicago

Peace corps naw I really like my job I do it in an honest manor unlike midget mayor mumbles. Trade in my car to help the homeless by giving them money. That wont save any lives num nuts giving the homeless money is stupid giving them skills or job support or counseling might help but cash no that would just enable the self destructive behavior that lead to the homelessness . Anyone fighting in Iraq isnt making us safer. What did Iraq or its people ever do to the United States. Invading it has pissed of much of the middle east though.
