This summer may have been pleasant, but there are still fruit flies out there. Fruit fly infestations, among other violations, led to the closings of Flat Top Grill's Old Town location (319 W. North Ave.) and Gum Fung Restaurant in Marquette Park (6835 S. Pulaski). Both restaurants also had food stored at unsafe temperatures; inspectors found 20 pounds of bok choy and other vegetables found in open containers on the floor at Gum Fung.

The Evanston Flat Top should get some review too. I was there last Monday and was pretty grossed out by the way the food was being handled/stored.
I got horrible food poisoning at the Flattop on Southport a couple of years ago. Seems to be something about that place...
I have a friend that lives near that Old Town Flat Top...I was on that corner smoking once while they were closing, and they came out and dumped this bucket full of fish parts and ice cubes into the gutter, New York/Chinatown style. So gross.

Yeah, I ate there once, too and my meat was not cooked at all. I complained and didn't have to pay.
They should also check out the cafeteria at DePaul's Lincoln Park campus. I'll never forget all the little fruit flies buzzing around inside the closed Krispy Kreme display case, landing their nasty little bodies on all those precious donuts. I mentioned something to the barista, who replied: "They just fruit flies."
They just fruit flies indeed.
